Airbnb support for unfair guest reviews is awful now
Honestly I’ve always found Airbnb support to be pretty lacking when it comes to supporting hosts against bad guests or unfair/retaliatory reviews, but there was at least a good chance they’d rule in your favor if you had evidence. Now recent changes have made it outright impossible to win except in the most obvious, absurd cases. Instead of talking to someone in support and arguing your case you now have to fill out an anonymous form to request the removal and you don’t get to speak to anyone. If it’s denied, there’s no rationale or explanation whatsoever. You get two form requests total and then the case is permanently closed with no further review. In the last several months I’ve had a few guests blatantly break my house rules, damage my house, and extort me for refunds. Then leave me a shit review when I confront them or charge them for damage. A couple of them even made it clear in their review they left it because of a damage claim. Each time I’ve had tons of documentation and *won* the related damage claim cases, but I’m told their reviews are staying. It’s like the review rules don’t even matter… It’s so ridiculous nowadays how Airbnb will find any reason to side with a guest it’s not funny.
