Contacting guest post-stay?

It finally happened to me- after literally hundreds of 5-star reviews and less than 5 4-stars, we received a mystifying 3 star review. The guest had only pleasant messages to us and a good public review, yet gave us 3 stars and said there was an issue. (What issue???) Airbnb won’t take it down. Is contacting a guest after the fact a thing people do? I never have. I’m honestly puzzled and want to ask her to take it down or at least tell me what her deal is, but my gut tells me she could be a) trying to scam Airbnb into a refund or b) just clueless about the rating system or c)… I don’t know?? Also how will this affect my rating? We’re at a 4.98. I realize I’m lucky this hasn’t happened already, but what a bummer. --- **Post Details:** - **Subreddit:** r/airbnb_hosts - **Author:** u/Alternative_War_1313 - **Score:** 9 upvotes - **Upvote Ratio:** 68.0% - **Comments:** 24 - **Posted:** 7/5/2025 - **URL:** https://reddit.com/r/airbnb_hosts/comments/1lrwvqh/contacting_guest_poststay/
