How do you usually find things to do when you land in a new city?

Curious how other nomads or expats deal with this: Whenever I arrive in a new place (like Milan or Bangkok), I usually waste hours bouncing between Eventbrite, Meetup, TikTok, Google, FB Events, blogs… just to find 2–3 decent things to do. Is there any better way you’ve found to discover real, high-quality stuff happening tonight or this weekend? Or do you just rely on word of mouth / walking around?
