Overstay Notification from Frankfurt Airport – Will I Have Problems Entering Germany Again?

Hi everyone, I’d really appreciate your help or any experience you could share. I'm a Mexican citizen and in 2023 I went on an exchange program to Croatia. I had to apply for a temporary residence permit as a student, but due to bureaucracy issues, it was never processed or approved on time. I was told by local authorities that I could still leave the country without problems, and I left Europe in late December 2023. However, during my layover at Frankfurt Airport (Germany), the Federal Police stopped me and issued a document called "Zustellungsbevollmächtigter" (notification of legal representative), citing Article §95 (1) Nr. 2 and 3 of the German Residence Act (AufenthG). I signed the form and left, but I never received any other communication afterwards — no fine, no email, no letter, nothing. Now, almost two years later, I’m planning a new trip to Europe and I might have to connect through Germany. I’d like to know if anyone has been in a similar situation: \- Could this still cause problems when I enter Germany again? \- Would this be stored in the Schengen Information System (SIS)? \- Is there a way to know if I have a ban or open case against me? \- Should I avoid Germany and fly through another Schengen country instead? Any advice or experience is appreciated. I’ve also emailed the Frankfurt Police to ask, but I haven’t received a response yet.
