Providing toothpaste in a pump style container

Personally, I wouldnt. But there again, I dont like using anything from bulk dispensers myself. Perhaps they are not environmentally friendly because of excess packaging but I prefer to use those tiny travel toothpaste tubes. Guests are usually well-prepared so one mini tube is used probably only every month or more, so unused ones carry on to the next guests. They are very cheap 50 tubes for about 15 online so I find them to be good value. I only had bath wash, shampoo and conditioner in a dispenser mounted on the wall which was used often. I used to buy a small tube of toothpaste and two pack of toothbrushes and leave it out on the vanity. Most of the time it wasnt used. I think thats probably the first thing folks pack when traveling. So in my opinion, I dont think a toothpaste dispenser is necessary. If you were a guest in a STR or hotel and there was a pump-style toothpaste dispenser on the sink in the bathroom, would you use it? For me, thats a definite No. I wouldnt either. Nothing stopping anyone from touching their toothbrush to the dispenser nozzle. Or a kid putting their tongue on it. One thing to have one in your family home, youve all got the same germs, but seems quite unsavory and unhygenic in an str. Although I have a basket of use whatever you need toiletries in my guest bathroom, mostly shampoos, shaving gel, sunscreen, bug repellent, left behind by guests, I have never provided toothpaste and no guest has ever suggested it. As Jaquo said, its something guests tend to bring themselves, and if they forgot theirs, almost any little corner store would have some. I would not use it. I too wouldnt do it. I do provide a tube in the medicine cabinet along with shaving cream, toothbrushes, etc but thats for emergencies. I think toothpaste is a very subjective item. Oh Lordy no. If it were an emergency and no toothpaste was to be had for 50 miles, I might swab down the spigot with alcohol and pump four inches of toothpaste and throw that away. Then Id squidge out enough to brush. Now of course , Im from the USA where we dont share anything personal. Sorry, it is a hard no for me.
