Renting Out Our Primary Home on Airbnb — Worth It?

We're away about 2 3 months a year and are about to buy our first home. It’s in a popular summer spot, so renting it out could help cover a good chunk of our mortgage. We were Airbnb hosts many years ago when we rented an apartment in the city, but this is different - as will be our own, primary home. I know the risks and wear and tear that can come with hosting. Would love to hear from other homeowners who’ve rented out their primary residence. Was it worth it?
