Retaliatory and harassing reviews are now allowed

Airbnb's new policy lets guests call hosts “greedy idiots” in a review. And refuses to remove it. Guest stayed 11 nights, then asked for a refund after checkout claiming a bad smell. I have photos before his check-in and after his checkout that obviously can't prove anything about smells, but clearly shows the state of the apartment. All these were submitted to CS. Airbnb sided with me not to refund him, since it was submitted after 11 nights. Immediately after I declined the refund request guest left a 1 star review full of lies and saying I'm just a greedy idiot. Now they refuse to remove it. Let a guest stay for free for 11 nights or suck it with a 1 star review. New policy is a disgrace. Hosts deserve better. #AirbnbFail --- **Post Details:** - **Subreddit:** r/airbnb_hosts - **Author:** u/False_Assistant_3796 - **Score:** 16 upvotes - **Upvote Ratio:** 67.0% - **Comments:** 18 - **Posted:** 7/13/2025 - **URL:** https://reddit.com/r/airbnb_hosts/comments/1lyx81s/retaliatory_and_harassing_reviews_are_now_allowed/
