Should I follow my gut instinct here?
I'm a relatively new host (I've had around 4 guests since starting a few weeks ago). Today, I received an enquiry from a brand new account, registered in April 2025, with no reviews, no bio and no profile picture (though I think the profile picture could be deliberately concealed until I accept the request?). The prospect writes well and seems innocent, but their enquiry is a little suspicious. They initially reached out asking if they could rent my apartment for 30 nights, but only Monday to Friday (they said they don't need it over the weekends...). I then asked what their plans were for visiting the city and why specifically they wanted Monday to Friday only... they responded quickly and said "I will be coming to \[CITY\] to receive medical treatment and so only need it for the Monday - Friday. I will then be travelling back home for the weekend to be with my family." I have not responded to this, but it seems weird. Why would someone travel every weekend for 30 days, and just stay in the apartment Monday to Friday? Should I be asking any follow up questions in order to then make an informed decision, should I take the risk and just accept them, or should I ignore this as it seems suspicious? What would you do?
