Tent vs hammock thru hiking

For as long as I’ve been (car) camping, I’ve always slept in a hammock. I’m able to set up in about 2 min, and I sleep great. I’ve lately set my eye on getting into thru hiking and was curious if there was any advantage per say to switching to a tent setup? Is there reason tent is the standard vs hammock?
