What’s your “I can’t believe they asked that” guest request?
One of our guests recently had a request that had us all cracking up not because it was outrageous, but just so oddly specific. They booked their Airbnb for a weekend yoga retreat and asked if we could rearrange all the living room furniture before arrival so the space felt “more open and balanced for morning flows.” When my assistant read the request to me, I was like wait, what? And she goes, Is this something we can do? since she handles all the guest communication (courtesy of @ thedelegatedude) and didn’t want to overpromise. It was a same day check in too. The guest had a full list like move the coffee table to the balcony, push the couch back two feet, and rotate the TV stand slightly so it wasn’t facing the kitchen. Super polite just very, very specific. Thankfully, we handled it. Coordinated with the cleaner, sketched out a quick floor plan based on the guest’s notes, and somehow pulled it off. They left a 5-star review saying it “felt like the space knew what I needed.” Now, is this worth doing for every guest? No way. We only did it because the timing worked out and the request was so detailed it kind of felt like a challenge. Other guests if you're reading this, feel free to rearrange things however you want just please put it all back and don’t break anything. Now what’s the most random or oddly specific thing a guest has asked you for? I know there’s some gold out there for sure.
